(More customer reviews)I bought this set last Christmas on eBay for a lot, lot less. All the knives and the block are made in China. I was leery at first, but to my surprise the knives have held their edge after much abuse. Razor sharp!
The handle is well balanced and comfortable to hold. I don't know the exact detail of this alloy (301 steel, and 18/10 stainless) versus other brands. Under careful inspection, you can faintly see where the handle is fused to the blade. Thus I know the knife is not machined from one solid block of metal. So their claim is true?! The blade is brittle so try not to bang the blade against a harder material. Over all, I am very satisfied with the set (for what I paid for).
The only "Porsche" I may ever be able to afford in my life...
If you want pure/extreme quality but don't care much about design, get the Global.
